Guidance to Accessing the NDIS

Guidance to accessing the NDIS

The most stressful and crucial part of getting the support you need is accessing the NDIS system and understanding how it works. At Support Agency, we understand that this is a difficult task, which is why we are here for you. You are our top priority, and helping you get started with your NDIS plan is our number one goal.

You are not alone in needing support; about 4.3 million Australians have either permanent or significant disabilities. The goal of the NDIS is to provide support to individuals with disabilities and encourage them to live independently, based on their specific needs so they can take back control of their life, and achieve their goals.

What can the Support Agency do for you?

At Support Agency, we know how hard it is to navigate the application process. That is why we are committed to helping you – whether you’re a new participant in the NDIS or changing from another system to the NDIS scheme.

We are happy to help you:

  • Check if you are eligible for the NDIS
  • Complete the required paperwork for the NDIS
  • Gather evidence to support the application
  • Prepare and accompany you to the first planning meeting ensuring you receive the plan that will suit your needs and help you accomplish your goal
  • Manage your plan and help you maximise your supports and in the process, maintain transparency of how and where your supports go to.

Frequently Asked Questions

To access the NDIS, you must first meet the eligibility criteria:

  • You are aged between 7 and 65 years old.
  • You live in Australia, are an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible Visa holder
  • You have a permanent or significant disability, use special equipment due to your disability, and
  • You need reasonable and necessary support for your future needs. Support Agency can help you check your eligibility.

After meeting the criteria set by the NDIS, Support Agency can assist you with the paperwork required by the NDIS and submit evidence that will support your application.

If you are already receiving support from other disability support services, the NDIA will contact you to discuss your transition to the NDIS. If you are eligible, your current disability supports and services will stay the same until you get your approved NDIS plan. This transfer process may be a difficult for you; Support Agency can help relieve the stress of understanding how the system works and help you in your transition to the NDIS.
